In February 1999, inspired by Charlton Heston's
speech at Harvard, we set up a special section
of the web that had absolutely nothing to do with investigation. We did it
for a number of reasons, not the least of which was to give voice to what
we consider to be continuing American values. We named that collection of
articles "Its My Site". The attack of 911 gave rise many new and inspiring
articles. Most of them dealt with the war on terror. Eventually, it became
apparent that although American values and the war on terror are often
closely interrelated, they are not the same thing and neither should be
mixed randomly with the other -- lest we lose the important messages
contained in both.
Today we have made a few
editorial changes that we hope will enable our many readers to get even
greater value from this collection. "Its My Site" has been renamed,
"American Values". All articles pertaining to the War on Terror. have been
moved to a newly created section called "The War on Terror".
New articles will be placed in the more appropriate of those two sites.
